Environment Action Tuakau Incoporated (EAT) formed in response to environmental breaches which were deeply affecting the wellbeing of locals.
‘It wasn't long before a much bigger priority became obvious and saving and restoring the Waikato River in Lapwood Rd Tuakau, at least, became the goal.
Tuakau Garden and Wetlands was born.
Restoring the River Reserve and possibly rescuing and restoring the land nearby for people and the climate is our vision. Including all in this vital journey are the values we espouse.
Our goal: Saving and restoring Tauaku native gardens and wetlands to support biodiversity and ecology in our area.
Our vision: Creating a healthy space for our community and climate. The Hamilton Garden's journey from tip to World Class Treasure our inspiration.
Our values: inclusion, education, community, wellbeing, sustainability.
